Career Highlights

Phil Steed has over 25 years of experience in the petroleum refining and petrochemical industries and in consulting. During 15 years with operating companies, he was involved in research, process engineering, planning, capital budgeting, and project development. As a consultant, Phil has worked with a variety of clients worldwide on many complex technical, commercial and strategic issues. Phil has worked internationally on many assignments and was previously based in London where he directed consulting activities in Europe, Africa, and the former Soviet Union for another consulting firm.

Phil has advised clients on several important energy industry mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and privatizations. Among the transactions in which Phil has advised are the acquisition of a refinery in South America, acquisition of two Northern European refineries, the planned privatizations of refineries in three Mediterranean countries, and the purchase of a refinery in Africa. Phil has also provided technical and commercial advice in several recent litigations including construction, intellectual property, personal injury, and tax disputes. Phil holds professional engineering registration in the states of Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas.
